The ethical practices are significant to the success of a business ororganization. The article by Charles et. al., (2014) entitled “AnExamination of the Effect of Leadership on Business Ethics: EmpiricalStudy” examines the ethics in businesses. It has all propertiesof a research article ranging from problem and purpose statements, toresearch questions and methodology.
The problem statement of the article identifies the effects ofvarious factors of productivity and management relating to ethicswithin a business (Chekwa, et. al., 2014). It also determines thecorrelation between the leadership’s ethical values and ethicalbehavior. It describes the context and significance of the study. Theresearch questions seek the role of leadership behavior and itseffects on the ethical behavior within an educated workforce.
The study utilizes nineteen of self-administered survey questions asthe methodology. The sample population consists of thirty adultworking online students (Chekwa, et. al., 2014). However, onlytwenty-one surveys are complete. The individual behavior, workculture, and paradigms measure the concept of leadership whilemotivations, intrinsic, and extrinsic values measure the businessethics concept. The purpose statement examines the standardsestablished by leaders to ensure the ethical manner of employees.
All these information are imperative in the scholarly researchbecause they are the ethical standards and give the premise for thestudy. It is crucial to recognize the purpose of the study, theproblem it intends to solve, the questions it will answer, and themethodology it will use. This provides the reader with focus andclarity as a logical path to process, analysis, and synthesis theinformation. Without them, researchers would follow their own format,which would bring questions regarding authority, validity, andauthenticity of all research.
