In the study, the authors discussthe common usage of herbal products or herbs to treat the cancerhuman tragedy. The writers note that since time immemorial and at thepresent herbal drugs are used in both traditional settings andallopathic (Safarzadeh, Shotorbani & Baradaran, 2014). Theimmunomodulation herbs are discussed in the article because theycontain immune modulatory effects that stimulate natural immunity.Additionally, the chemopreventive herbal drugs are vital in cancertreatment because they inhibit and prevent or rather interfere withcarcinogenesis growth.

Concerningthe active substances or mechanisms that may be said to initiateapoptosis, Safarzadeh, Shotorbani, and Baradaran can be viewed asapplying both isolated and speculative techniques as beingresponsible (2014). For example, they assert that active substancesare responsible for the morphological and molecular alterations thatlead to apoptosis-inducing structure (Milella, Bader, De Tommasi,Russo & Braca, 2014). Moreover, the authors elaborate thatresearch has indicated that some plants’ natural compounds havebeen found to induce apoptotic pathways, which the cancer cells oftenblock. Therefore, the authors isolated their study to highlight themechanisms responsible for the apoptosis initiation (Hong, Chung,Bae, Trung, Bae & Lee, 2014). However, some of their claims arespeculative particularly when they refer to unproven statistics andplant components as responsible for inducing apoptotic pathways.
