Withregard to Boston Massacre that happened on 5th March 1770, it isevident that the arrival of his majesty troops in Boston could havetriggered the conflict with the inhabitants. First, I try to thinkthat the residents considered the arrival of the soldiers as beingabhorrent since they have never used their influence to weaken thetroops. Additionally, the soldiers were brought into contempt byenhancing and aiding desertions and by extension with impunity. Thishas been depicted even where facts are evidence, and they getinvolved in propagating false issue concerning them. Therefore, Ithink that the Boston Massacre was a terrible mistake that the troopcould not manage to avoid, but some critical measure could havehelped.1

Ithink that the massacre was a terrible mistake because the arrival ofthe troops created an animosity with the inhabitant, and theirembarkation is always associated with great violence. Unfortunately, one of their Justices who was well-informed about the behavior of thepeople and understood the intention of the inhabitants by theninformed them of the impending danger. I suggest this could havetaken place during the trial of a man of the 14th Regiment anddeclaration was made by the people, and it was directed to thetroops. The soldiers were being informed to take care of themselves, and they should no longer trust their arms since they were few. Theinhabitants come along with weapons which were hidden in their clothsand they were willing and able to take a fight any moment.2 Furthermore, the reason why I said the Boston massacre was a terrible mistake wasdue to thereaction of the soldiers towards such kind of environment which wasnot appropriate since they could easily tell the extent in which theinhabitants were willing and able to take a fight with them. This wasevident enough for them to formulate a strategy that would help themrelocate to another region for their safety and that of theinhabitant. Additionally, the top soldiers were well-informed aboutthe past conflicts that have existed between the people and thetroops. Suddenly, these disputes were kept secret to the officers sothey couldn’t know how dangerous the situation could be. For thisreason, it confirms that Boston Massacre could have been prevented incase appropriated measure such as informing the troops about thedisputes that have existed in the past weredisclosed.3 Additionally,I think that concealing of the conflict that has existed between thesoldiers and the inhabitants was one of the contributing factors tothe Boston Massacre. Since these were new officers who were deployedin his majesty, they did not have full information of these conflictsthat have happened in the past. Similarly, if the top officers knewabout these issues, they would consider increasing the number ofsoldiers rather than bringing a handful of them. Conversely, if thetroops were many, this would have instilled fear among theinhabitants, and they would not have engaged the soldiers in a fight.Hence, the Boston Massacre emerged due to ignorance of the topofficers and failures of the soldiers to take drastic measure tocounter the inhabitants.4 Inessence, as I had mentioned earlier the Boston Massacre had numerousloopholes that could be prevented by the top officers and that madeit a terrible mistake. First, the officers knew about the disputesthat have existed between the inhabitants and the soldiers. For thatmatter, they would have let the soldier know about this issue andalso increase their numbers to counter the people. Most of theconflicts that emerge in the society are as result of ignorance andlack of critical strategic measures.
