Eco-MashRecyclers

Theearth planet is under siege of degradation owing to the continuedpollution. Pollution is a major concern in the world as countriescompete to outdo each other in industrialization programs. Economieslike China, Russia, and the U.S. are constantly expanding however, their expansion has only created a further stress on the existingresources (Shin, &amp Kim, 2014). The major factor that lacks asdepicted in the UNEP convention on environmental conservation held inNairobi-Kenya is proper laws and regulations on the production ofmaterials and recycling wastes in a bid to ensure that no wastesaccumulate and harm the environment. Therefore, the aim of Eco-MashRecyclers is to ensure that electronic and plastic waste materialsare converted into re-usable products instead of accumulating andpolluting the environment.

CompanyDescription

Eco-MashRecyclers is a company that will be started as a partnership and itwill be based in New York since this is one of the largest cities inthe world experiencing massive plastic and electronic wastes. One ofthe partners will act as the CEO while the other will act as theassistant CEO. The management structure that will be adopted will beinclined towards flexibility in a bid to enhance decision makingprocess. Further, for the start the company will encompass six senioremployees who will be distributed evenly in four major departmentscustomer service, human resource, finance, and waste collection andprocessing. However, major focus will be placed on the wastecollection and processing since it is the backbone of the company. Atthe same time, owing to the limited financial capacity, many of theservices will be outsourced from different professional agenciesacross New York.

Theinitial target market will be people around New York, but it willexpand in future to cover the entire country after a span of threeyears. Each of the different departments will be required tocoordinate their services to take advantage of the freely availableresources in New York. The establishment in New York is based on thefact that it is common to see bins filled with old TVs, drinkingbottles, computer components, and other related materials, suchwastes will offer significant raw materials for the company (Bell,Huber, &amp Viscusi, 2015). Besides, the profitability model, thecompany will offer an environmental improvement channel and this willrequire incorporation of support from other governmental andnon-governmental channels across the country (Luijsterburg, &ampGoossens, 2014). Therefore, in a bid to succeed, the company willcollaborate with the waste management agencies in New York as ameasure of avoiding confrontations and competition for wastecollection and disposal.

ThoroughAnalysis

SWOTanalysis is an essential tool that provides a platform to understandthe basis of success of an organization. Strengths are thosecharacteristics of a business that give it an upper hand in themarket and they offer competitive advantage to the business.Weaknesses denote the factors that disadvantage an organization(Amiri Aghdaie, &amp Zare Zardeini, 2012). Opportunities are thoseadvantageous environmental elements that can be exploited by anorganization, and threats are the elements that can cause trouble forthe success of an organization. It is the combination of these 4categories of elements that give rise to SWOT analysis.

Throughthe use of SWOT analysis, can easily pinpoint itsprospects in the market and how to counter any challenges that mayarise in the long-run. Eco-Mash has a unique business model which hasonly been adopted by very few organizations in the modern society(Shi, 2016). At the same time, the model is worthwhile in an erawhere environmental concerns have attracted the interests ofgovernments across the world as seen in the various conventions wherethey tried to deliberate on measures to curb pollution and climatechange. Therefore, this is a major strength of the operating model ofthe company (Desmaryani, 2016). The freely available wastes add tothe raw materials in the production process and the resultant impactis that more people are employed, cheap products delivered, and mostimportantly the company makes profits while helping to clean theenvironment.

Thesupport from both the national and local governments indicates thatthe company has a political goodwill. This is a significant startingpoint towards attaining the required end goals. Further, there is alarge unexploited market, freely available resources, and multipleincentives to pursue the venture (Qiu, &amp Wei, 2017). However, theEco-Mash has to deal with some issues like lack of cooperation fromwaste management departments who may feel threatened by the role ofthe company in the waste management program and most of the timewaste is not sort into categories. Further, such threats as highinitial costs, unwillingness of some members in local governments toapprove the project, and inefficiencies in the waste collectionprocess should be handled before the full operationalization of thecompany (Stan, &amp Nedelcu, 2015). Most importantly, the success ofthe company is pegged on management’s strategies and approach inentering the market. Existing threats or weaknesses can be easilyprevented and enhanced if management adopts flexible operationsystems and policies.

BusinessVenture Continuity

Lookingat the SWOT analysis it is imperative to note that there are a widerange of factors that work in favor of the organization and there arethose that inhibit its performance. However, in order for thebusiness to continue, the positives must outweigh the negatives. Inretrospect to this, stands in a better position ofsucceeding in the market as opposed to failing (Sriwidadi, &ampGautama, 2016). First of all, there are numerous opportunities in themarket that remain largely unexploited. The supply of labor, highdemand for cheap materials, and large amounts of wastes makesEco-Mash to stand in a better competitive platform and bound tosucceed in the market. At the same time, leveraging on technology isa crucial proposition for the success of the business. Throughtechnology, the company can enhance reliable and cost effectiveproduction processes in the long-run and this will ensuresustainability (Tao, Zhou, Shen, &amp Zhao, 2015). It is true thatthere are some impediments to the operations of the company, however, such issues as lack of support from waste management departments, inefficiencies in waste collection, and high initial expenses can beprevented by striking a deal with waste management departments andinvolving them in the waste recycling process, using technology toenhance waste collection, and bringing on board venture capitalistsrespectively. Essentially, based on the SWOT analysis, the businessventure will continue.

Conclusion

Aftera thorough SWOT analysis, I am convinced that recycling is a worthybusiness to venture. There are numerous opportunities that stillremain fully or partially unexploited and by taking advantage of thehigh demand of cheap products and freely available labor andtechnological resources, Eco-Mash will attain profitability both inthe short-run and long-run. At the same time, the phenomenal supportfrom local governments and national governments across the worldoffer significant incentives into expanding the operations of thecompany in future. Therefore, is a worthy businessventure to pursue and it’s bound to attain profitability andprotect the environment from degradation.
