    The sources that I decided to use for this assignment include CareerBuilder and LinkedIn. The reason behind choosing these two is the professional basis behind them. They contain professional information regarding jobs, their descriptions and more so the social connection aspect(Munshi, &amp Hanji, 2014). Important information regarding any job will be found here easily.

    hat are the two or three sources that you decided to use for this assignment? Why did you choose those among others? What were the most helpful aspects of each source? Is there information that you were seeking but were unable to find? How might you go about finding that information?

  1. What job did you choose? Summarize the job description in your own words. Use quotations where necessary and cite. I chose sales associates. This is the job I chose to doing at Barneys store in New York. As a retail or sales associate, I am basically involved in helping shoppers find items around the stall and more importantly answering any questions regarding the goods sold by the retail shop. I also help shoppers pick items and help them ring their purchases(Munshi, &amp Hanji, 2014). More often I have used cash registers to process transaction in the stall as a retail associate.

  1. Why did you choose this particular position? How does this position fit with your current career aspirations?

The choice behind this position was driven by various elements. My future career aspirations is to be in a position to work closely with people. Sales associate job enables you to improve on patience when dealing with individuals around you and more so improve on your communication and social skills. These are the main reason behind my choice at Barneys stall.

  1. What is the experience that has prepared you for this position? What are the skills that you know you can bring to this job? What do you still need to learn? What are the things that you’re unsure of, and what are the areas in which you want to improve?

Currently I have no work experience on the job. I however have excellent communication skills that I believe are a great asset for the company. I am in a position to exploit my skills in communication to help customers in the stall thereby creating a larger customer base. At the moment there is nothing about the job that I am unsure of. I am however willing to learn more about relating with people on a professional manner.

  1. What is the average salary for this position? How does this compare what you thought it would be?

The average salary for this position is $9.50 per hour. This in my estimation was my expectation for the job considering it was an entry level job. I therefore am contented with the job at the moment.

  1. What surprised you when you were doing your research?

I was surprised to realize that this is also a well paying job especially for me as a part timer. It is an ideal job opportunity for someone schooling like me. Also, what is required is the communication skills to get the job started. There is therefore no complication regarding the job.

    The potential sources that I chose to use in this research include LinkedIn and Twitter.

    I chose these two sources because they are widely used by professionals to advertise job positions and thus effective for networking.

    The helpful aspects about LinkedIn is that it enables a person to join groups on the basis of individual interest thereby expanding network and provides more professionals to connect with.

    The helpful aspects of Twitter is that it enables a person to stay updated on available jobs with employers or professionals and some organizations using it as a platform for posting jobs thus increasing availability of acquiring jobs.

    The information that I was searching and could not get is salary information. I can find the information by asking professionals in same career in my group.

The job that I chose is Sales Associates at Barneys in New York.

A sales associate sells retail goods. They work closely with customers to identify the needs of the customers.

They answer the questions of customers regarding the company’s products.

They provide customers with recommendations for correction solutions.

They resolve the complaints of customers.

They ensure customers are satisfied through providing excellent customer service

They are responsible for maintaining the high standards of visual appearance of the store.

They ensure the sale’s goals of the store are achieved and to attract and maintain customers (Erevelles &amp Fukawa, 2013).

  1. Why did you choose this particular position? How does this position fit with your current career aspirations?

I chose Sales Associate position because it fits my current career aspirations. My current career aspirations is to experience sales retail operations, to work with customers first hand and put into practice the skills I acquired from the previous work experience and to work in a sales oriented environment.

  1. What is the experience that has prepared you for this position? What are the skills that you know you can bring to this job? What do you still need to learn? What are the things that you’re unsure of, and what are the areas in which you want to improve?

The experience that prepared me for this position is when I worked as a retail sales associate in a certain company in New York. The skills that I obtained, which I could bring into this job include customer service skills, communication skills, flexibility and persistence.

  1. What surprised you when you were doing your research?

Something that surprised me when conducting this research is that the position is on high demand and thus employers are looking for people with higher qualifications. I thought sales associates being a demanding job, it would not have many people seeking for this position but I was surprised to find out how its demand is high.
