Inthe process of constructing a guide on employee recruitment andselection for the intern, one is able to acquire several competenciesthat are mainly related to management skills. Coordination of work isone of the competencies learned from unit 5 whereby one is able tofollow instructions through the standard work process. For example,while filing the common files to be used on a daily basis one is ableto check for accuracy before completion of the task given. Anothercompetence is data analysis that provides knowledge of statisticaltheories (NationalResearch Council, Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences andEducation, Board on Science Education, Board on Testing andAssessment, &amp Committee on Defining Deeper Learning and 21stCentury Skills, 2013).Therefore, one is able to monitor and collect research data that isaccurate, valid and has integrity. In addition, record keeping beingone of the competencies acquired, helps one in reviewing documentsand files that are necessary. It ensures the appropriate data aboutthe staff is in the files holding accurate records that can beretrieved at any time to produce reports and answer questions.Furthermore, one obtains human resource management competence thatprovides the suitable policies and procedures on recruitment,selection, development, counseling, disciplining and evaluation ofperformance of the employees.

Discussionboard brought in the aspect of learning through sharing one’sexperiences and ideas. The ideas from the different members of thediscussion board enable an individual to develop skills, attainknowledge and necessary attributes that are required for goodperformance when conducting research and writing the comprehensiveproject.

Theskills and competencies developed support the advancement of aperson`s career in management through providing motivation andflexibility in dealing with people from diverse cultures. Forexample, the discussion board comprises of individuals from differentcultural backgrounds. Additionally, a person is able to learndecision-making skills on strategic levels that are necessary formanagement. The research skills attained allow for strong means toadapt to the required tasks for a given project.
