Thecontemporary world has seen a growth in the number of human behaviourorganizations. These organizations include the American Associationof Behavioural and Social Sciences (AABSS) and the Consortium ofSocial Science Associations (COSSA). They help in propelling ustowards employment options in the future by addressing needs andspecific knowledge gaps in our society.

Accordingto Gaziano (2017), a knowledge gap is a disparity in the levels ofknowledge. The hypothesis on knowledge gap illustrates that knowledgeseems to be differently distributed in the societal systems. This gapalways tends to increase resulting in various societal needs thatshould be located, defined and addressed adequately. This is theresponsibility of professional organizations like the AmericanPlanning Association (APA) and the National Association of SocialWorkers (NASW). People looking for employment opportunities need tobe assessed so that their skills and interests are well defined. These sets of skills and interests should be compared to the needs ofthe market to ascertain and define the gap. Professionalorganizations should, therefore, put in place measures to supportthese potential employees. These measures can include training anddeveloping their skills in line with the job market requirement. Thiscan be done by providing expert professional advice, assisting themto realize their skill sets and matching them to relevant employmentoptions. Additionally, the organizations should help them gain morehands-on experiences in employment through internships, asillustrated by Orcher (2016), in social and behavioural sciencemethods.

Thecourse has equipped me with the necessary analytical tools to realizemy skills, interests and at the same time helping me understand theextent of my abilities. I can now identify my knowledge gap and whatI need to do to address it.
