Therefore, the aim of this paper is to provide anargument with an answer to the question “Does social media enhanceor hinder interpersonal relationships?” The argument shows reasonsas to why social media is important in human life.

Socialmedia enables people to share ideas with strangers regardless oftheir respective countries or ethnic backgrounds. Through socialmedia platforms, it is now easier for people to exchange and learnnew concepts. People can teach each about their cultures as well ashow to undertake various business activities (Trottier,2012).Social media has made it easier for people to market and sellproducts, services and creative minds to those in need. This meansthat social media has encouraged people to recognize and appreciatethe diversity across the world.

Socialmedia is essential because it has fastened the manner in whichinformation spreads from the source to the recipient. Social mediagives family members to engage in constant communication regardlessof the distance between them. It is now easier for family members tohelp each other satisfy their needs enabling them enjoy life. On theother hand, company management can now share routine programs quicklywith employees through social media platforms (Dimmick,Feaster, &amp Ramirez, 2011).This means that employees get informed quickly about theirresponsibilities even when the manager is not within theorganization.

Conclusion

Therefore,it is evident that social media enhances interpersonal relationshipsbecause it allows people remain connected. Social media enhancesinterpersonal relationships because it provides an opportunity forpeople to appreciate the uniqueness of others. Social media alsoenables people remain connected to their loved ones. It makes iteasier for people to help one another eventually making themunderstand the value of being alive.

Most of the interactionstaking place on social media are jeopardizing very close relationshipsuch as marriages and family ties (Trottier,2012).Domestic conflicts and disagreements are on the rise because peopleare spending so much time on social media. People spending a lot oftime on social media have the tendency of ignoring colleagues aroundor closely related to them.

Socialmedia has become the platform for people to spread propaganda thatleads to confusion in the society. Most of the information spreadthrough social media is misleading because it is just based on facts.Most people rely on gossips to develop stories and propagate themacross social media making it hard for others to differentiatebetween truth and lies (Dimmick,Feaster, &amp Ramirez, 2011).This implies that social media has made it difficult for people todistinguish between virtual reality and the real world.

Conclusion

Asa result, social media can hinder interpersonal relationships becauseit allows people to dwell so much in virtual reality. There is a lotof information that people do not comprehend about social mediaforcing them to enter blindly into relationships. People use socialmedia platforms for wrong intentions hence endangering their lives.

However,social media has more advantages compared to the disadvantagesmeaning, in most cases it is used in a good way. Alternatively, it iseasier for people to gain control over the disadvantages of socialmedia. Thus, social media helps in enhancing interpersonalrelationships.
