WaterConservation

Althoughwater is a basic and core necessity for various uses, abouttwenty-nine percent undergoes different processes making the amountof rainfall to vary in different locations which result in high watershortages. Further, the water table is suffering severe threats dueto global warming, climate change, over usage and industrialdevelopment among other causes. These causes will make the waterlevel to decrease while the water usage will continue to increase. Thus, it is very necessary for all human beings to invest in waterconservation, proper use and caring for water resources. Water reuse, desalination, harvest of rainwater, mechanical auditing and logicpolicy are some of the effective water conservations methods to beused (Kurunthachalam, 1).

Failureto uphold strong policies on water management and preservation, contamination of water due to bad sanitary and toxic chemicals willcontinue to increase in future. And those people that reside in themajor cities will be the most affected group. Besides, it is notedthat fresh water wastage occurs mostly through car washing, homegardens, laundry, toilet flushing, long bathroom showers, andunnecessary running tap water. In the US, fifteen percent of sixtybuckets of water per person goes to waste while in India, about eightpercent of the same amount is lost when using conventional methods. Moreover, about thirty five of drinking water is leaked from localplumbing detectives in India (Kurunthachalam, 1).

Despitethe high wastage of water, about six hundred and fifty millioninhabitants of more than forty countries in Indian desserts, MiddleEast and Sub-Saharan Africans experience water scarcity.Additionally, economic development and energy production in China andIndian are mostly affected. Other countries that face decreased watersupplies include German, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Spain andthe USA due to reduced water levels, drying of streams, climatechange, chemical contamination and increased droughts conditions.Based on the above facts, water management and conservations policiesshould be implemented with immediate effect to the respectivecountries. Notably, this editorial context targets India and USAnations which are among the largest democratic countries ready toimplement effective water conservation methods (Kurunthachalam, 1).

Theaim of water conservation methods is to reduce excess water use bymonitoring ground water levels, surface water resources, reservoirsand water sources. And most importantly, it will secure consumptionwater from genetic damage degradation, over-use water scarcity aswell as pollution sources and prolonged untenable management shouldbe avoided and demarcated. Moreover, during drought emergency andcaution water provision should be decreased to ensure that mostpeople at least access some water to drink. Additional conservationwater plans include water markets, utility measures, assured supply, use regulation, efficiency, metering and pricing among others(Kurunthachalam, 2).

Mostpeople in the US know the significance of water in life however, they should go ahead learn and take responsibilities of conservingit. And this management should start right way from the home use ofwater through the provision of information to help them on how tominimize the daily water usage. Various water saving tips can beadopted ranging from dishwashing, showering, teeth brushing, clothwashing, toilet flushing, car washing and watering gardens amongothers uses. All these tips can save up to forty percent of dailywater consumption per household. Similarly, the Indian people canmodify their current conservation method and save up to ninetypercent of water. They can still learn more on the water saving tipsjust like the USA to reduce more water usage. In addition to thedomestic usage, the government should also educate and put themeasures on industrial water usage (Kurunthachalam, 2).

Rainharvesting should be encouraged especially for domestic andagricultural uses, and the government should subsidize in the processof collection by providing the necessary materials. Similarly, conservation of public water usage should be done through rationingand installation of various technologies. Moreover, recycling ofreclaimed water in industrial, construction activities, agriculture, toilet flushing and concrete mixing among other uses should beencouraged. Also, water reusing using the system of recirculationcoolant can lessen water usage through using the same water invarious cooling processes. Lastly, water conservation and managementare very crucial globally as well as public awareness of managingwater is equally imperative for maintaining high quality living inthis earth (Kurunthachalam, 3).
